Welcome to the first AppliedEI of 2008. We hope you like the results of our experimenting and market research last year ~ the new design of the ezine is the first of many changes that will follow in the next 6 months, including a brand new IAEI website, IAEI membership and interactive involvement with the AppliedEI community.
The launch of the new programme of study with the IAEI is the main feature for this issue. Amanda Knight, Director of Learning & Development, provides more detail of the options available for students of the programme - development specialists, business professionals, coaches, consultants and individuals – and the range of university credits awarded.
We would very much like to include more articles from our readers in 2008, so if you would like to share your knowledge and experience of any aspect of applied emotional intelligence in your professional life or personal development, please send your article to e-zine@appliedei.co.uk
Our preference for articles is between 500 – 1,500 words (excluding references). We reserve the right to proof and edit all articles accepted for publication.
Leadership is a constant theme in the world of emotional intelligence and at this time of change in world leadership, it is interesting to observe how the facets of EI engage and move the viewer. Watch this link to Barack Obama’s Empathy Deficit speech to experience, in particular Self Regard, Regard for Others and Balanced Outlook.
