Levels of Membership
CAEI has a growing number of associates and certified practitioners throughout the UK, all committed to excellence. The full members of CAEI are the holders of the only postgraduate level qualification in EI currently available.
CAEI practitionership is only open to those who have passed through the EI Practitioner training and gained the Certificate in Applied Emotional Intelligence (Cert EI). Cert EI holders have undergone rigorous training and assessment to gain their qualification (see Training and Accreditation).
We also help and assist those practitioners who are at the beginning of their EI career by offering tutor support during their studies and Student Membership to the CAEI give them access to a wealth of information and resources. In this way we are ensuring the continuing high standards of EI practice into the future. Student Membership is open to those who have commenced their Certificate training course.
A further level of membership is available as an Associate Member. This membership is awarded at the discretion of the CAEI to those who have not gained their Certificate, but who are able to demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of EI, a proven ability to apply EI in the workplace, and adherence to the CAEI Code of Ethics.
We anticipate establishing a Fellowship of the CAEI, to be awarded to individuals who demonstrate a pioneering approach to raising awareness, understanding and development of EI in business.
Newsletter
An email-based newsletter is distributed quarterly to all members. Articles, reviews and letters keep everyone informed on current affairs and innovative practices. It is also a forum for members to air views and ideas and present articles for discussion and information. CAEI strongly encourages members to put forward their ideas and comments for inclusion in the newsletter.
CAEI Practitioner List
Full Members can ask the CAEI for an application form to include their name on the CAEI Practitioners' Register. The list is circulated on request to anyone requiring the services of a qualified practitioner. Contact us for a list of current practitioners.
Continuing Professional Development
CAEI is committed to helping its members continue their personal and professional development throughout their careers. This is done via updating skills through workshops, providing access to the latest books and resources on EI, and feeding back from international conferences throughout the year.
Code of Ethics
All members adhere to a stringent Code of Ethics to ensure that EI programmes are delivered professionally, sensitively, and with knowledge and experience.
Fees
Currently membership of the CAEI is free for those who are eligible. The CAEI plans to introduce membership fees in 2007 to assist in the administration of the membership database and the provision of benefits.
